From the band: "The Map is Not The Territory was carefully arranged to follow an imaginary fantasy/sci-fi story so it is designed to play as sort of a fake science-fiction movie soundtrack. It is a very diverse sounding Electronic Art Music record but has been put together so that all of its parts form a very distinct whole."
Using their unusually vast collection of tape machines, old synths, and distinct studio aesthetics, Polyphasic once again deliver an album of subtle textures and deceptively complex arrangements which draw influence from the sci-fi explorations of titans such as Delia Derbyshire, Louis & Bebe Barron, Stockhausen, Stone Glass Steel and others.
